The Roxy Theater and Bare Bait Dance are proud to present Just Dance, a monthly celebration of dance on screen.

WINDOW DRESSING30 minInspired by glimpses of home life seen only through windows, the film, originally presented as the 2021 Bare Bait season-closer, is a screen-dance film, shot on-location in a Missoula home. It depicts the story of six women weaving through the domestic moments of life after suffering a loss.
Filmed by Mike Steinberg and Kelly Bouma, directed/choreographed by Joy French, the film honors women’s ability to lean on one another and heal.

JANE SAYS17 min“Jane Says” is an amalgamation of memories, and a bit of imagination from the minds of Kelly Bouma and Mike Steinberg. It is a fever dream, a cultural homage to our early childhoods and influences. Most of the found footage is from circa 1982, however we did take some artistic liberties.
The intention of the piece from the very beginning was to bring lightness to our lives, in the studio and for you, the audience. We hope you enjoy it and maybe for the first time in your life, appreciate the good old days of the not so subtle, relentless stream of commercials. Maybe?
