Kick off JDub '26 with an evening of film at the Roxy!
At 7 PM we'll show Paving The Way, a documentary about the Flathead Reservation's skateparks and the young people who find hope there. Followed by Jeff Ament and Debra Magpie Earling in conversation.
Jeff Ament is the Co-Founder and Bassist in the rock band Pearl Jam and the Founder of Montana Pool Service. Ament wrote the original music for Paving The Way, and the skateparks featured in the film were made possible by Jeff’s Montana Pool Service and the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes.
Debra Magpie Earling is the author of Perma Red and The Lost Journals of Sacajewea, the recipient of the Montana Governor’s Arts Award and has received both a Guggenheim and NEA fellowship. Debra Magpie Earling is a Consulting Producer of Paving The Way. She is a member and citizen of the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes. She is Bitterroot Salish.

At 8 PM we'll show Winter in the Blood, the film adaptation of James Welch's beautiful novel of isolation, loss and reconciliation on the northern plains. Beforehand the film's directors, Alex and Andrew Smith, will talk about adapting Winter in the Blood and its legacy 13 years on.
