Kick your way into 2025 with The Roxy's annual all-day-long New Year’s Eve marathon of classic Kung Fu flicks!

12:00 - "MYSTERY WIZARD BATTLE MOVIE" (Hsin Yi Chang, 1981, 89 min. In Mandarin with English subtitles.)

We’re not allowed to tell you the title of this ‘80s martial-arts-with-lasers treat, but we can definitely tell you the vibe you’ll receive.  Get ready for (in no particular order): hard fantasy, dirt-cheap paper-mâché vistas, wire-fu and other practical FX, wizard angst, throbbing crystals, floating heads, slapstick nonsense, shimmering light shows, dudes in animal suits, even more janky costumes, smoke machines and a gross-out aesthetic that just won’t quit.  You will never forget this time at the movies!

2:00 - MIAMI CONNECTION (Y.K. Kim, 1987, 83 min. In English.)

Directed by 9th-degree black belt/philosopher/author/inspirational speaker Grandmaster Y.K. Kim, the one-of-a-kind MIAMI CONNECTION is one of the most entertaining martial arts films made in America that you will ever see. The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas tighten their grip on Florida’s narcotics trade, annihilating anyone who dares move in on their turf. Multi-national martial arts rock band Dragon Sound have had enough, and embark on a roundhouse wreck-wave of crime-crushing justice in the streets of Orlando. It’ll take every ounce of their blood and courage, but Dragon Sound can’t stop until they’ve completely destroyed the dealers, the drunk bikers, the kill-crazy ninjas, the middle-aged thugs, the “stupid cocaine” . . . and the entire MIAMI CONNECTION.

4:00 - RETURN OF THE SISTER STREET FIGHTER (Kazuhiko Yamaguchi, 1975, 77 min. In Japanese with English subtitles.)

Genre entertainment of the highest order, the SISTER STREET FIGHTER films are a wild ride through some of the best exploitation cinema Japan produced in the 1970s. Funky and over-the-top, filled with wall-to-wall action, and featuring some of the craziest villains ever depicted onscreen, the series embodies female power in a male-dominated genre and is a magnificent showcase for the physical presence and martial arts skills of its lead star.

6:00 - THE CLONES OF BRUCE LEE (Joseph Kong Hung & Nam Gi-nam, 1980, 90 min. Dubbed into English.)

Bruce Lee has just died, but the BSI is swinging into action to salvage the situation. Aided by the brilliant Professor Lucas, cells from the martial arts master’s body are removed and grown into three adult Bruce Lee clones. After undergoing training to bring their skills up to the level of their ‘father’, the three are sent out to battle crime, with one sent to take on a gold smuggler, and the other two teaming up to shut down an evil mad scientist.

8:00 - SNAKE IN THE EAGLE'S SHADOW (Yuen Wo-Ping, 1978, 98 min. Dubbed into English.)
Everyone abuses and humiliates a downtrodden orphan until he befriends an old man, who turns out to be the last master of the Snake Fist fighting style. Jackie becomes the old man’s student and finds himself in battle with the master of the Eagle’s Claw style, who has vowed to destroy the Snake Fist clan. Starring Jackie Chan!

10:00 - THE SWORD AND THE CLAW (Natuk Baytan, 1975, 97 min. Dubbed into English.)

They took his money. They took his family. And now, they’ve taken his hands. But they can never take his revenge! Exploding from the same hallucinogenic netherworld as TURKISH STAR WARS, THE SWORD AND THE CLAW stars Turkish genre legend Cüneyt Arkin in his most iconic role. It’s CONAN THE BARBARIAN meets The Three Stooges meets DOLEMITE with more lo-fi bloodshed, pop-art visuals, and bizarro dubbing than the boundaries of reality can handle.

One ticket gets you into as many of the films as you'd like to watch! Sponsored by Sushi Hana!
