Grizzly bears are rebounding in certain areas of the Northern Rockies, but threats to their long-term survival continue to increase, hindering their continuing recovery. In order to reverse this trend, 49 organizations and individuals endorsed a bold vision for securing protections bears need to not only survive, but to thrive in the Northern Rockies and beyond. Advancing this vision requires keeping grizzly bear protections in place and raising awareness about their importance to people and the ecosystem.

Return of the Grizzly

This powerful 37-minute film documentary follows the path and challenges of the "explorer bear," the pioneering young male grizzlies that come from small, isolated core populations. The grizzly bear needs to explore and pioneer new habitats to spread its gene pool, and its long journeys are increasingly driven--and hemmed in--by the ravages of climate change.
