Movies in the Garden

Mothra vs. Godzilla

The Roxy is proud to welcome you to Movies in the Garden, summer evening screenings hosted in our beautiful outdoor cinema space, the Roxy Garden.

Godzilla faces off against the benevolent insect monster-god Mothra in this clash of the titans, a crossover battle between two of Toho Studios’ most popular monsters—the last in which Godzilla would figure as a malevolent villain rather than a fearsome hero. Mothra vs. Godzilla marks a creative high point in the Godzilla series, with pointed social commentary from director Ishiro Honda, a masterful score by Akira Ifukube, and astonishing special-effects work by Eiji Tsuburaya.

Please note: The Garden is located behind The Roxy Annex at 730 S. Higgins. Parking is available in front of The Roxy Theater or on 5th and 6th Streets; please do not park in the Humble Building parking lot. No outside food or drink, or dogs, permitted. Seating is limited, so please buy tickets online to ensure you'll have a spot! In case of inclement weather, the screening will be moved into the Roxy Annex.
