Sandman's Summer Solstice Special

The Roxy's own Chris Sand, AKA "Sandman the Rappin' Cowboy," is on a quest to celebrate all four seasons of 2018 with his third multi-media show at Missoula's Nonprofit Community Cinema. With winter long gone, and spring's fragrant blossoms soon to blow down the tracks, Sandman's Summer Solstice Special will feature a set of his live, socially conscious music followed by a screening of the 75-minute award-winning documentary--ROLL OUT, COWBOY--about Sand which follows him on a 2008 summer tour in support of then Illinois Senator Barack Obama's first presidential bid.

Now, ten years later, after much turmoil and harrowing change--in both the American political landscape and in Sand's personal life--will this film stumble as a naive relic of foolish optimism or will it transcend time and politics altogether to stake its claim as a classic ode to the art of American dream-making?

This event is FREE and open to the public on behalf of The Roxy, so purchasing a bowl of triple-organic popcorn and a cold beverage is especially welcome!
