Purple Rain

Purple Rain

Sing-A-Long with The Kid (Prince), Apollonia, and Morris Day & The Time in the ultimate 80s musical. Brought to you by Ear Candy Music. This big screen debut of Prince is the (autobiographical) story of an arrogant, young black singer, born and raised in Minneapolis, who reaches the pinnacle of stardom. The dramatic complications include The Kid's miserable home life, where he suffers the brutalities of his father (well played by Clarence Williams III) and the youth's efforts to win the love of the beautiful Apollonia. Despite the obvious misogynistic undercurrents in Purple Rain, the film's biggest fans were young women. So come, one and all, get freaky and purify yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka - and sing your heart out to a catalogue of Prince's hits, including I Would Die 4 U, When Doves Cry and Let's Go Crazy; a score that deservedly won an Academy Award and a Grammy.
